Garbage disposal
Garbage from households(Rules of Tamano City)
Please put garbage in a transparent or translucent plastic bag and place the bag in the designated garbage station in your residential area by 8 o’clock in the morning on the designated days of the week.
The garbage must be separated into different categories, for example, combustible, non-combustible, and cans and bottles.
You may inquire with the Environmental Protection Section of Tamano City for the schedule of garbage disposal (pdf).
Please be aware that the disposal of garbage on the days not designated for garbage collection is prohibited.

Marriages and divorces must be registered at the Resident and Childcare Section at Tamano City Hall.

Registration about residence
Any changes relevant to the status of residence, including an extension of the period of stay and a change in the status of residence must be reported to the nearest Immigration Bureau.

Alien registration

(Be aware! There is a certain time period in which you must complete the alien registration process.)

(1) Initial alien registration
【Necessary documents】
Passport and 2 pictures (Size: 45mm (H) x 35mm (W) No pictures required for those 16 years old or younger)
(2) Change in registration
(address, nationality, status of residence, period of stay, place of employment, etc.)
【Necessary documents】
Alien registration card, passport (in the case of changes in the status of residence and the period of stay),
and other documents required for confirmation of changes.
(3) Confirmation of registration (renewal of alien registration)
The renewal of registration is required within 30 days after having 5th or 7th birthday from the previous registration and becoming 16 years old.
Tamano Municipal Office will send a notice to those aliens who will have 5th or 7th birthday and become 16 years old.

Alien registration card, two pictures (Size: 45mm (H) x 35mm (W) )and passport
The registration described in above clauses (1) to (3) must be made at Tamano City Hall. There will be no cost at aliens at registration.

Issuance of certificate
The certificate of APPLICATION form for a certificate on registered matters that provides information required for certain events, such as applying for driver’s license.
The cost of issuance is 300 yen per certificate.
The issuance of the certificate can only be applied for by the principal and family members living with the principal.

Water
Before starting and stopping using the city water, please contact the Waterworks Section of Tamano Municipal Office to inform us of the following information.

The date on which you will start using water, location, your name, your birthday, payment method, a contact phone number
( When you will stop using water )
The date on which you will stop using water, location, your name, customer number (shown on the water bill), a contact phone number
Gas
Contact the gas company well in advance, before moving into or moving out of your residence so that the use of gas can start or stop at the appropriate time.
Electricity
Contact the electricity company, The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc. Okayama Branch Office (Toll free Number: 0120-411-669), well in advance, before moving into or moving out of your residence, and inform them of your name, address, a contact phone number, and the date on which you will start/stop using electricity so that the use of electricity can start or stop at the appropriate time.
